The Great Southern Rail Trail

Is a walking, cycling and horse riding trail in beautiful South Gippsland.

There is a 7.5km section between Leongatha and Koonwarra which is gently undulating on a smooth gravel surface. This section travels though open dairy farmland and bush near Koonwarra.

A 4km section between Meeniyan and Stony Creek is currently under constuction and should be completed by about mid November, 2000. This section is generally flat and will be a smooth gravel surface.

Located just 120kms south-east of Melbourne, The Great Southern Rail Trail is a great recreational facility to use in Country Victoria either for a day trip or you could spend a few days discovering the Promontory Coasts other attractions such as Wilsons Promontory National Park or Agnes Falls.
