This
drive of approximately 60 km takes you deep into the wild hill country of
South Gippsland. You wind your way along bush tracks, past beautiful water
falls, through open hill country, back into tall timber while experiencing
some of the most breathtaking views around.
Starting at Foster drive west, along the South Gippsland Highway towards Melbourne. As you climb the Foster North Hill watch out for O'Grady's Ridge Road on your left, then turn right at the next intersection, the Foster/Mirboo Road.

Follow the Foster/Mirboo Road through rolling farming country, past Dollar/Woorarra Road on the left until you come to an intersection of McCartins Road, then turn right | ||
| Continue along
McCartins Road and you will go deeper and deeper into what remains of the
Great Southern Forest. Take the time
to stop and experience the beauty of this wonderful country.
At the Turtons Creek intersection turn left, and a few kilometres down the track you will come to a picnic area with tables and seats. Turtons Creek falls are just down the road with a parking area and a walking track to the falls. |

| After exploring the falls and having a bite to eat, continue down along Turtons Creek Road, past Turtons Creek reserve, past East Tarwin Road and then Old Central Road on the left. The valley starts to open up and once again you travelling through cleared farming land, but not for long. As you follow the valley down watch for a concrete bridge on your right, then turn right over the bridge and follow Central Road up into the tall timber. | |||

| The road seems to climb forever; you are now making your way to the top of the ridge and the famous Grand Ridge Road. After a few kilometres you come to a stop sign and the Grand Ridge Road, turn right. Continue until you come to Gunyah Junction, and take the right fork. | |||

It's all down hill from here, the views are breathtaking as the road takes you back down towards the coast. Pass the old Boolarong State School site on your left, pass Old Boolarra and Schimdts Roads on the left, and Turtons Creek/Woorarra West Road on the right before finally coming back onto bitumen. Then go past Wonga/Square Top Road on the left, continuing down the hill. At the bottom of the hill you meet the Foster/Boolarra Rd, where you turn right, following the road for a few kilometres until you meet the South Gippsland Highway, turn right and Foster and a nice cup of tea are only minutes away. | ||
