Sandy Point

A long curve of magnificent ocean beach with a backdrop of Wilsons Promontory to the south characterises the township of Sandy Point.


First subdivided and developed from farming land and scrub in the 1960s by an enterprising real estate agent, Sandy Point now consists of an interesting mixture of beach houses and permanent residences in a wide range of architectural styles.

	On the foreshore is the new and quite dramatic Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club building, with its curving brick walls and roofline. The clubhouse is fully-licensed and is open on weekends from noon to midnight.
